Linear drainage systems, new look at storm sewer

The concept of storm sewer is used for many years. The number of buildings increases every year, that's why the question of gathering and drainage of storm and melted water is one of the first to be solved by engineers. With implementation of new technologies the storm sewer got a new look. Now it is a modern and highly efficient system of storm drainage.

The linear drainage is one of the types of storm drainage. Installation of linear drainage does not require serious preparation of the surface; it is enough to have flat slopes at both sides from drainage line. As a result you get the decrease of possibility of subsidence, decrease of he length of channels, increase of drainage area. Linear drainage is a system of gutters (channels, trays) and trash boxes - containers, where water, filtered from sand and other mud, which is caught in special plastic box, drains into storm sewage. Drainage channels and trash boxes are covered with both protective and decorative gratings on the top.

Concrete channels are presented in 5 series: general purpose series DN100, application - pedestrian areas, parking areas, underground roads and sport structures; extra durable and shock proof series Maxi DN110 - fuel filling stations, industrial zones, storage terminals, highways; series Maxi DN160 - fuel filling stations, maintenance station, car washes; series Maxi DN200 and Maxi DN300 - industrial zones, factories, storage terminals, landing strips.

Polymer concrete is two times stronger and lighter than traditional concrete on the basis of water and cement. It is not susceptible to aggressive environments. It is waterproof, frost-resisting, it has high durability and capacity for strikes and dynamic activity. Polymer concrete channels are presented in 5 series: series DN100 H60, series DN100 H100, series DN100 H125, series Maxi DN110 and series Maxi DN160.

Plastic channels are made of adapting plastic suitable for low temperatures and high loads. Due to high frost resistance plastic channels are able to bear more than -42 degrees centigrade. A big advantage of plastic channels is thier light weight that makes it easy to transport and install. Among other pros of plastic channels we should mention the possibility of angle connection, vertical and horizantal connection with stormwater pipe. They are presentd in 4 series: series DN100 H80, series DN100 H120, series DN100 H155 and series DN200.

General purpose channels are equipped with drainage gratings, which cover them and assume major load. That's why, choosing drainage grating, you have to consider the load class. There are drainage gratings made of galvanized or stainless steel, copper, cast-iron. Wide range of decorative gratings allows to place the channel practically in any landscape.

Non-standard drainage channels can be equipped with drainage grate. Such gratings are made of ductile cast-iron and may be used in the places with extreme surface loads (Class F900 according to European standards system DIN 19850). Cast-iron drainage grate are corrosion-resistant, timeproof and strong.

Trash box, trash catcher or so called sand catcher is developed to prevent storm sewage from sand and other trash. So water, filtered from sand and other mud, which is caught in special plastic box, drains into storm sewage. The plastic box is located in the lower part of the trashbox. If it is full, the box should be taken out, emptied and put inside again.
